12.5Gbps/ch transmission in polymer waveguide with 4-channel circular graded-index cores

Abstract

Multimode polymer waveguides with 4-channel circular graded-index cores are fabricated. Because of the parabolic index profile, very low-loss (0.029dB/cm) and high-bandwidth (83Gbps·m) are achieved, and a transmission of 12.5-Gbps for 3 m is demonstrated.
