Abstract

We have developed a CIRC decoder which provides compatible high-speed decoding and high-performance error correction with high precision, and performs real-time, high-speed error correction (up to 24x) by means of original technologies. We have applied the CIRC decoder to a single chip, high-speed CD-ROM decoder LSI on which CD-DSP, CD-ROM decoder functions, a DVD-ECC interface, an ATAPI interface, and servomotor control are integrated. This LSI achieves fully CAV (Constant Angle Velocity).
