Abstract
A female in her fifties with small-cell lung carcinoma developed subacute impairment of left visual acuity. MR imaging revealed high signal intensity in the left swollen optic nerve on STIR and diffusion-weighted image. Gadolinium-enhanced fat-suppressed T1-weighted Image showed irregularly enhanced left optic nerve and nerve sheath. The mentioned-above findings on MR imaging improved after radiotherapy of 30 Gy for the optic nerve metastasis.
