Abstract
Trichodiscoma is a rare hamartoma with sebaceous differentiation. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of a solitary trichodiscoma. Trichodiscoma and fibrofolliculoma share the same pathological process as mantleoma at different times in its development We report a case of a 41-year-old woman suffering from a trichodiscoma at the ala of her nose. The patient was treated by excision and a subcutaneous pedicle flap. Histopathologic findings of this entity are characteristic: the cords of epithelial cells are surrounded by stroma that resembles peri-isthmic connective tissue made up mostly of ribbon-like bundles of collagen. The sebaceous lobules resemble a mitt. In our case, there has been no recurrence in 6 months of follow-up.
