Abstract

This paper states the issues faced, and the role played by keyword dictionaries with regard to discussion based web sites which aim to achieve a 'collective knowledge' through the voluntary participation of corporate employees, and proposes a corrective strategy. A keyword dictionary is valuable in that it helps to integrate fragmented accumulated knowledge with generalized knowledge. However, this necessitates a method that allows for coauthoring, and Wiki, BBS and other existing tools are still insufficient in this respect. As well as offering a method for expanding BBS, this paper shows a method for assessing use within an actual corporation.
