Abstract

The crystal structure of tetrakis[μ-bis(4-chlorophenoxy)-acetato-O:O′]bis[(dimethylformamide-O) copper(II)], [Cu(bpca)2(dmf)]2 [bpca is bis(4-chlorophenoxy)acetate, C14H9Cl2O4; dmf is dimethylformamide, C3H7NO], consists of a dinuclear Cu11 complex which has a typical cage structure, with a Cu. . .Cu distance of 2.685 (1) Å. The magnetic -2J value is 361 cm-1 (H = -2JS1S2).
