A study on source-channel encoding of AC coefficients for compressed video transmission with multicode DS/SS modulation

Abstract

In this paper we investigate a new codeword assignment method for source-channel encoding of AC coefficients with multicode DS/SS modulation. With multicode DS/SS modulation, the total amount of energy to transmit an image is more significant than the total number of bits. The proposed method shows better performance than the conventional codeword assignment method for larger AC coefficients.
