Abstract

The light scattering by an optically isotropic particle have been investigated. On the other hand, the theory and the experimental analysis for scattering property by an optically anisotropic particle have not been reported yet. In this paper, we prepared the polymer film containing anisotropic particles by a casting method and analyzed the scattering behavior of an optically anisotropic particle. As the result, we estimated that the scattering cross section was varied by the measuring plane and scattering cross section of an optically anisotropic particle increased with an increase in the refractive index difference between particle and matrix.
