Abstract

The paper presents a circuit module for velocity and acceleration estimation from position data using pipeline digital-differentiator units on a field programmable gate array (FPGA). The velocity and the acceleration are important parameters in the motion control because they specified a motion. Most of the control techniques use the information for feedback control and tackle to enhance a robustness. Therefore, how to obtain and filtrate the information are one of the widely addressed problems. Wideband information now becomes ingredient as industrial systems aim to fast operation. The paper prepares a pipeline circuit to acquire the wideband information on the FPGA. A design policy and a circuit architecture are presented and then experiments are conducted to verify the circuit.
