Bandwidth performance of W-shaped plastic optical fiber under static fiber bending

Abstract

Transmission properties of graded-index plastic optical fiber(GI POF) and W-shaped plastic optical fiber(W-shaped POF) are investigated. We demonstrate that bandwidth performance of W-shaped POF is more stable than that of GI POF against microbending.
