Abstract

A new antibiotic, BMY-28100, was administered for 4-17 days at a daily dose of 750 or 1500mg to 22 patients (pneumonia 4 cases, acute bronchitis 4, acute tonsillitis 3, acute pharyngitis 4, acute pyelonephritis 5, and acute cystitis 2). The results were effective in 16 cases, and the overall efficacy rate was 72.7%. A side effect was observed in 1 patient (eruption), and abnormal laboratory findings were observed in 4 (3 cases of GPT and 1 of GOT, GPT elevation).
