Abstract

Studies on bubble detectors with high energy heavy ions, such as P, He, C, Si, Ar, Fe, Kr and Xe demonstrate that bubble detectors possess many behaviors similar to solid state nuclear track detectors, and have some advantages over the latter, such as the capability of active development, real-time recording and volume track visibility. One of the conclusions drawn from the studies is that bubble detector is a new category of solid state nuclear track detectors.
