Abstract

Thanks to the advancing Internet of Things(IoT) technologies, various applications have been developed to monitor or react with real-time sensor data, which is detecting the environment or human condition. However, since the communication methods vary with different sensors and platforms, it increases the work when develop applications among multi platforms. In this paper, a network structure is proposed to avoid redundant developing, and provide a simple and common interface to transfer sensor data to web and mobile applications. To make it compact, single-board computer was used as the data processing and transfer server in the structure. For input of sensor data, the server has interfaces for sensors like serial, GPIO, etc. The output is formatted JSON data. With Wi-Fi connected to the server, clients could access the data remotely. Websocket protocol is used for its compatibility between web and mobile platforms. Several implementations proof the design in development efficiency.
