Crystal-Induced Nanoarchitectonics of Organic Polymer Materials

Abstract

Morphology control of organic and inorganic polymer materials in multiple length scales contributes development of materials nanoarchitectonics. The present chapter shows that crystal induces morphology control of organic polymer materials from nanoscopic to macroscopic scales. In general, molecular design of monomers and their precise polymerization have been well studied in previous works. However, it is not easy to achieve simultaneous synthesis and morphogenesis of organic polymers, such as conductive polymers. Our recent studies show that interspace, surface, and structure of crystals facilitate hierarchical morphology control of organic polymer materials. The improved and emergent properties were observed on the resultant polymer materials. This chapter shows versatile potentials for crystal-induced nanoarchitectonics of organic polymer materials.
