    Abstract

We proposed and designed a current-driven 2×2 optical switch using Si waveguides and phase-change material. The structure of the phase shifter was optimized to reduce the required switching energy and insertion loss. The PCM film is 1.1 μm long and the maximum switching energy is 3.05 nJ. In the bar port state, the insertion loss is 2.84 dB, and in the cross port state, it is 0.75 dB.
