Design of a grating coupler made of GeTe for Si nanowire waveguide

    Abstract

    A grating coupler using GeTe with a high refractive index of 5.45 is proposed. The diffraction efficiency of 71% and the coupling efficiency of -2.0 dB are confirmed by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method.
