Abstract
A graded-index plastic optical fiber with the glass transition temperature of about 115oC was obtained with poly(2,2,2-trichloroethyl methacrylate -co- N-substituted maleimide) by the co-extrusion process. The fiber exhibited the lowest attenuation of about 350 dB/km at 780 nm wavelength and bandwidth of over 2GHz for the 50m-fiber.
