Abstract

The differential processing of ultrashort optical pulses was carried out using an arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) with the phase-only filter. The feasibility of this technique at 1.55 μm was confirmed. More complex signal processing will be possible for ultra-short pulses by using a higher-phase-level filter.
