Digital signal regeneration with side-injection-light-controlled bistable laser diode

Abstract

Digital optical signal regeneration with a SILC-BLD markedly improves the bit error rate of the degraded optical signals. The diode can not only regenerates the signal but also converts the signal wavelength at the same time without wavelength filters and isolators.
