Dual full high definition 3d video real-time communication system

Abstract

A real full HD 3D video communication system using graded-index plastic optical fiber (GI-POF) network is proposed. Instead of using regular side-by-side stereoscopic technology, it uses synchronized dual channel streaming which enables us to provide full HD quality for both right and left eye images. Using Sony's newly developed communication box for the 3D dual streaming, we modified it by adding an optical interface for IP data transmission through GI-POF.
