Effect of hydrophilic group on absorption spectra of meso-disubstituted porphyrin LB films

Amphiphilic porphyrins substituted at 5,15 positions, 1-4 were newly synthesized and their Langmuir-Blodgett films were prepared. Changes in spectral pattern were observed upon film formation. The effect of the nature of hydrophilic group on their absorption spectra was discussed.
