N2 - Change in compositional microhomogeneity as a function of temperature was determined for various hydrous gels obtained from a component sol mixture as precursors for PbTiO3. The local molar ratio, Pb:Ti, was determined by energy dispersive spectroscopy with a 25‐nm electron beam. Homogenization during heating was accelerated by preliminary ball milling or pressing of the sol mixture. The mechanism of homogenization is discussed in the present paper with respect to mechanochemical effects.
