Abstract

Electromagnetic flowmeters have been one of the standard instrument to measure the conductive liquid flowrate in industry. It is possible to evaluate velocity profiles through the proper design of the magnetic field and the electrodes. In this study, we try to reconstruct the flow field in partially filled pipes (open channels) by using the weight vector corresponding to the water level, which is an expansion from fully filled flow tomography. The accuracy is improved by regularization technique and multiple regularization parameters are optimized rapidly by minimizing Minimum Distance Function related to an L-surface.
