Abstract
Cuttlefish bone is composed primarily of calcium carbonate about 80~85%. We focus on calcium carbonate and helpful materials for blood coagulations. However, natural cuttlefish bone is hard to control its surface structure. Therefore, in order to control the surface structure, we use sodium dodecyl sulfate. We synthesize calcium carbonate using calcium chloride and sodium carbonate. After that, we fabricate artificial calcium carbonate with sodium alginate and β-chitosan as the enhancement materials for blood coagulations. Then, sodium alginate and β-chitosan are coated alternately on the prepared calcium carbonate by Layer-by-Layer self-assembly method. As the result, it is found that the calcium carbonate composite has effect on blood coagulations, which can be expected for medical application.
