Abstract

Using a recently developed formalism for the weak-field Hall effect in 2D metals, we calculate the expected magnitude and temperature dependence of the Hall conductivity σxy and Hall coefficient RHall(T) directly in terms of Fermi surface parameters for two prototypical single band quasi-2D molecular superconductors: (TMTSF)2PF6 and β-(BEDT-TTF)2I3. The results, which are in good agreement with experiment, provide a new measure of the T- and k-dependent scattering time τk(T) on the Fermi surface.
