Abstract

A fluidic flowmeter using the oscillation of a jet stream has the advantage of no movable parts since fluidic oscillation, proportional to volumetric flowrate, is transduced into an electrical waveform which integrates the oscillation into a totalized flow. The membrane meter is capable of metering a minute flowrate of gas owing to membrane movement, offering an extremely wide range and the fluidic flowmeter is very inferior in this respect. Newly developed fluidic flowmeters which have a wider range than conventional types are described. (from authors' abstract)
