Abstract

In an aqueous dispersion of a novel polymerizable amphiphile containing hydrolyzable linkages, spherical or tubular giant vesicles were formed after the polymerization react ion, even though the hydrolysis of the amphiphile also occurred. This is probably due to the stab ilization of the membrane structure composed of various amphiphiles, produced through the polymeri zation of the amphiphile.
