Graded index plastic optical fiber with high-temperature and high-humidity stability

Abstract

This report investigated the MMA-co-PFPMA base GI POF with low loss at an emission wavelength of cost effective VCSEL. The copolymer base GI POF enables a stable data transmission at 1.25 Gbps. The copolymer base GI POF doped with BPT after heat treatment maintains the low loss even under the high-temperature and high-humidity condition (75 oC, 85 %RH), and satisfy the IEC requirement.
