This paper describes technologies used in and implementation of improved D 50 switching equipment. The improved D 50 has been developed to facilitate economical service area expansion and improved data communication capabilities. This switching equipment features: medium scale switch capacity for accommodation of 300 data terminals; economical one-stage time switching with frame synchronization; and signal processing capability for the sending and receiving various signals on all channels at any time including telex signals. Results of manufacture show the improved D 50 can be put to practical use in advanced data communication networks.
