Abstract
This paper outlines the system configuration and technologies involved in an improved D50 circuit switching system. The developed system has three features: 1) the system costs are low even when traffic demand is low, 2) it offers a new switching and signal processing architecture that facilitates advance data communications capabilities, 3) it can accommodate telex terminals within the same network.
