Abstract

Intelligent Network Architecture was proposed in order to provide customers with a variety of telecommunications service smoothly and efficiently even under the multi-vendor environment. To achieve the objectives, standardization of interface and functional elements is necessary. ITU-T therefore started to study Intelligent Network on 1989. This paper, at first, explains objectives and concept of Intelligent Network and describes current status and schedule of standardization activity at ITU-T. Topical issues studying at ITU-T are also described.
