Abstract

The Isobarlc heat capacity, Cp, of liquid 2,2-dtehloro-1,1,1-trlfluoroethane Cp,(CHCl2CF3 HCFC-123), which Is a promising alternative to CFC-11, has been measured by using flow calorimetry. The values of 80 Cphave been determined In the range of temperatures from 275.85 to 440 K and pressures from 0.5 to 3.2 MPa, respectively. The overall uncertainties of the determined Cp values are concluded to be less than ±0.4% for temperatures below 420 K, ±0.5% at 430 K, ±0.8% at 440 K, respectively. The Cp data have been correlated with a function of temperature and pressure within ±0.4%, and the Cp of saturated liquid, Cp, have been derived from the correlation.
