Abstract
For expanded data communication networks, silica-based single-mode (SM) optical fiber has been widely used especially for long haul communication because of its high transparency and high bandwidth. However, the small core diameter of the SM fiber such as 5-10 μm requires the accurate fiber coupling technology, and will significantly increase the total costs in the FTTH and Interconnection. As the promising candidate, lots of interests have been focused on Polymer optical fiber (POF). In this paper, low-loss GI POF in near infrared region was fabricated by using all deuterated and fluorinated acrylate polymer.
