Abstract

Background: LIM homeobox 8 (Lhx8) functions in the differentiation of cholinergic neurons. Results: Lhx8 regulates functions of cholinergic neurons by modulating tropomyosin receptor kinaseA(TrkA) expression. Lhx8 expression and function are regulated by NGF. Conclusion: Lhx8 is a mediator of NGF signaling for the regulation of cholinergic functions.
