Abstract

The critical temperatures and densities have been determined by visual observation of the disappearance of the meniscus at the vapour-liquid coexistence for the seven alternative refrigerants; HFC-32, HCFC-123, HFC-125, HFC-134, HFC-134a, HCFC-142b, and HFC-152a. In addition to the original data for HFC-32 and HFC-125 reported in this paper, the data of HCFC-123, HFC-134, HFC-134a, HCFC-142b, and HFC-152a which have already been published in previous papers are also included, but with reassessed values for the critical temperature as a result of converting from the IPTS-68 into the ITS-90. A nondimensionalised correlation for the vapour-liquid coexistence curve of each alternative refrigerant was also developed.
