Microscopic imaging of emission patterns in T-shaped quantum wire lasers

Abstract

A study was conducted on emission spectra and images of L1-L3, in comprison with those of spontaneous emissions of T-wires, an arm well, and stem wells, to investigate transverse modes and origin of L1-L3. As such, a schematic of a T-wire laser structure fabricated by the cleaved edge over-growth method with a new annealing technique in MBE was shown. In addition, emission spectra of L1 at 1.574 eV for various pumping levels at 4 K with spectral resolution of 0.2 meV were shown as well.
