Abstract

Numerical and experimental investigations on atomization phenomena of air-blasted liquid film on wall surface were carried out. First, visualization experiment of air-blasted water film was performed changing the air velocity. As a result, atomization of water film was observed photographically. The air-water interfering distance, required for atomization, shortened with increasing air velocity. Second, the three-dimensional simulations using CIP-LSM to compare the experiment were performed. The simulated results accorded with the experimental results qualitatively.
