Abstract

Monte Carlo simulations were performed for analyzing the transport of hydrogen transport in hydrogen negative ion sources. Monte Carlo neutral transport codes that were related to the various important processes of H were improved by considering the excited hydrogen atoms. The trajectories of the neutral particles were traced by the code using the path length estimator algorithm, until the particles were dissociated, recombined, ionized, or reached the plasma grid (PG). The improvements enabled to calculate more accurate neutral particle density distributions.
