    Abstract

Quality of service (QoS)-aware cyclic sleep controllers for optical network units (ONUs) have been proposed. However, sufficient performance has not been obtained because of sleep period limitation. This paper proposes a proportional-integral (PI)-based controller considering the sleep period limitation. Simulations confirm that the proposed controller improves the QoS.
