Abstract
In this chapter, near-field imaging spectroscopy of quantum-confined systems with a spatial resolution as high as 10-30nm is described. Spatial profiles of local density of states and exciton wavefunctions confined in quantum dots are visualized. The fundamental aspects of localized and delocalized electrons in interface and alloy disorder systems are also discussed.
