Abstract
ZnS:Mn luminescent materials were prepared by an Mn coating method. Low temperature Mn-doping and a homogeneous Mn distribution were accomplished by this method. The coating state and distribution of Mn were examined in detail by transmission electron microscopy and electron spin resonance. The change in optical properties due to subsequent heat treatment was explained by the relative amount of isolated Mn2+ ions.
