Optical properties of homogeneously Mn-doped ZnS nanoparticles

Abstract

Homogeneously Mn-doped ZnS nanoparticles were made by precipitation in a methanolic media with the aid of methacrylic acid at room temperature. In order to elucidate the role of methacrylic acid, the distributions of Mn2+ ions in the ZnS nanoparticles under different conditions were investigated by electron spin resonance (ESR). Photoluminescence (PL) intensity of ZnS nanoparticles increased with decreasing particle size.
