Passive Q-switching of visible Pr3+: LiYF4 laser with Cr4+: YAG saturable absorber and intracavity second harmonic generation at DUV

Abstract

We demonstrate a high-power blue InGaN diode laser pumped passively Q-switching of a Pr3+:LiYF4 laser with a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber and its intracavity SHG at 320-nm deep UV. Under high power pumping, the repetition rate reaches to 787 kHz with a pulse width of 74 ns.
