Abstract

Poly(perfluoro-2-methylene-4,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane) was synthesized and its thermal, viscoelastic and optical properties before and after adding a perfluorinated plasticizer were studied. The plasticizer considerably improved its thermal processability while keeping the high transparency, and the fiber was obtained by a simple gas extrusion for the first time. The Tg of the fiber is around 140 °C and Td is over 300 °C.
