Abstract

Photoelectrochemical behavior of a single crystal n-TiO2 electrode was investigated in a hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquid, 1-butyl-l-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide (BMPTFSA). The photoanodic current was observed on the TiO2 electrode in BMPTFSA under irradiation of UV light. The flat-band potential was estimated from the onset potential of the photocurrent. The flat-band potential in neat BMPTFSA was different from that in BMPTFSA containing ferrocene.
