Photonic functional devices for future communication systems

    Abstract

    We proposed a waveguide-type polarization beam splitter and an athermal optical delay circuit using trenches filled with low-refractive index material. Tunable optical dispersion compensators, a small-sized optical switch, and a high-performance Si waveguide crossing were also developed.
