Abstract

The power spectral density (PSD) of modified quadrature overlapped raised-cosine (Modified QORC) modulation passed through a bandpass hard limiter is examined by analytical methods. We show that the PSD's of the bandpass hard-limited MQORC at offset D equals 0 and staggered MQORC have significant different behavior, the former tends to its sidelobes restored and approached to those of the hard-limited QORC, whereas the latter tends to keep its sidelobes suppressed as is the case prior to a hard limiter, and therefore, the sidelobes drop off faster compared to the hard-limited staggered QORC. This fact shows that the suppression of the PSD due to the pulse shaping is effective even over the bandpass hard-limited channel in the case of staggered MQORC.
