Abstract

The present paper summarizes the current state of the art in the field of thermophysical properties research on environmentally acceptable refrigerants in Japan. An overview will cover the most updated results of both experimental measurements and modeling of the essential thermophysical properties. The discussion will cover a wide variety of promising alternatives including not only the pure compounds such as HFC-134a, HFC-152a, HCFC-123, HCFC-141b, HCFC-142b and HFC-134 but also some refrigerant mixtures such as HCFC-22/HCFC142b and HCFC-22/HFC-152a/HCFC-142b.
