Abstract

In our daily lives, we often feel depressed on rainy days. In this research, we aim to relieve these kinds of unpleasant feelings by providing a novel entertainment system using raindrops. More concretely, we propose an interactive display named "rainterior" that can illuminate collisions of raindrops on a water surface by using a projector-camera system. According to the positions of raindrops, the appearance of the water surface changes and sounds are generated in realtime. In this paper, we describe the concept, system design and implementation of rainterior.
