Abstract

Reactions of the dinuclear hydrogensulfido-bridged complexes [Cp*MCl(μ-SH)2MClCp*] (M = Rh, Ir) with CuCl2·2H2O lead to formation of Rh4S7 and Ir3CuS6 clusters [(Cp*Rh)43-S2)2(μ4-S3)][[CuCl2l2 and [(Cp*Ir)33-S2)3(CuCl 2)][CuCl2] through the oxidative S - S bond formation, the former of which contains a trisulfido ligand of the unprecedented μ42111 coordination mode.
